Fragments of the Past

We had hoped we might uncover a chest full of cash, or gold, or precious jewelry while ripping out walls and floor boards, but as of yet, there's been nothing of value. Our contractors did uncover these three photos however. While they don't really tell us anything about the house, nor about its previous owners, they're interesting fragments of the past none the less.

A woman stands on the porch of an unknown house.  There's an inscription on the back, detailed in  the photo below.

The paper has been damaged, but I believe it reads: "The ____ of our house. You can see our back porch up above the other one. The door behind me is our private(?) entrance. This is facing south."

Unknown man standing in a field wearing a bow tie.  There's nothing written on the back.  Maybe it was taken in our back yard. Can't really tell.

This is a postcard shot of Venice, Italy, according to the inscription detailed below.

"Venice, Italy," and what appears to be a date.  An underlined 1. 1901?
