A lot of the changes over the last few days were subtle, and hard to really capture in photographs. The bulk of the work lately has been foundation improvements, and additions. The clearance in the crawl space toward the back of the house was minimal. You couldn't actually crawl under the back portion at all. That is now fixed. We now have enough room to get in there if needed.
In addition, there are new concrete pads in place, which will provide support for a crossbeam that was very poorly supported before. We'll also have nice level floors, which is desirable to most people.
On the back of the house, forms were put in for the extension foundation yesterday, and today the concrete was poured.

Taken today. Concrete being finished. |

Though it looks like a back porch right now, this is all getting framed in. The closest portion here will become our laundry room/mud room. Then the back wall of the house is coming out about four feet, and the roof is being re-sloped to meet up with the extended walls. |

This photo shows the low clearance under the back portion of the house. There's only about eight inches there, and that support beam was propped up on wooden blocks sitting directly on the earth. |
|
This photo shows the added clearance underneath. It's hard to tell from the photo, but it's much deeper, with enough room to crawl around.

These concrete platforms were added today to support the crossbeam. You can see the added depth better in this shot. There are supports like this at least every five feet along the beam, where before there were only a couple of flimsy support posts right on the dirt. |
I took a look upstairs this afternoon, and the old master bathroom wall framing has been torn out. In addition there's a hole in the floor. I believe this is where they have to mate up floor joists with new support beams going in downstairs.

The old master bathroom is gone. Only the tub remains, and it will be gone soon too. |
