Day 50 - Window Installation Begins

It's been a busy week for us, and there's been little time to commit to updating the blog. Yesterday was jam packed with picking out cabinets, counter tops, and all of the flooring for the house. This was complicated by our daughter being less than patient with how much time this took. In the end we didn't quite reach final decisions on everything, but we're close.

This morning I had a meeting with the electricians to go over the lighting and wiring plan for the house, and I think we've got that more or less squared away.

On the job site, the past few days have seen a lot more of the necessary, but not so visually spectacular kind of work going on. Ceiling joists have been connected to a new beam in the attic, and the floors have been leveled downstairs. But this morning, the vapor barrier went down in the crawl space, and the floor joists  were covered with new plywood. Then, this afternoon, window installation began.

Main floor looking toward the back of the house.
Standing in what will be the kitchen.  The post on the right will be at the right edge of the kitchen island.

Standing in the main floor, back corner bedroom. There will be a wall here eventually to enclose that heating duct work.
